#7 Andrew Jackson
Old Hickory hangs out just north of the White House on H Street in Lafayette Square. This area was supposed to be part of the White House grounds but Jefferson separated it in 1804. In 1824 it was dedicated to General Lafayette of France and several other European generals who aided in the revolution. Prior to 9/11, you could drive down H Street but now it is only accessible to the public by foot, bike, and most popularly: SEGWAYS! If you are ever in this area, you should never feed the squirrels. It appears that many people sit on the benches and do so and it makes them fearless.
